Das Kölner Stadtgebiet ist in 45 Postleitzahlgebiete unterteilt. Diese räumliche Gliederung in das fünfstellige System wurde 1993 von der Deutschen Bundespost eingeführte und ist im Kölner Stadtgebiet bis heute nahezu unverändert. Die Grenzen der Bereiche orientieren sich grob an den Stadtteilgrenzen und sind bis auf wenige Ausnahmen, zum Beispiel in Finkenberg und Sülz, zusammenhängende Flächen.
